Greece capped a magnificent tournament in Bulgaria by winning the title at the U16 European Championship for Women Division B.

Artemis Spanou scored 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Greeks won over Finland, 56-47.

Greece and Finland won their semi-finals on Sunday at the U16 European Championship Division B in Bulgaria to clinch promotion.

The two sides will now go for gold in Monday's final.

Greece defeated Slovenia 51-31 to clinch first place in Group E and set up a semi-final against Romania at the U16 European Championship Division B Women in Bulgaria.

Zafeira Giampani had 10 points and three steals for the Greeks, who improved to 3-0 in Group E while the Slovenians fell to 2-1.

Slovenia, Greece, Romania and the Netherlands all won on Thursday - the first day of the Qualifying Round for first to eighth place at the U16 European Championship Division B.

Greece prevailed over hosts Bulgaria 55-46 and Slovenia clinched a 68-59 victory over Denmark.

Artemis Spanou scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Greeks, who now go into Group E of the Qualifying Round for places one through eight with a 1-0 record.

An impressive double-double in points and rebounds from Anne Pedersen helped Denmark defeat Israel to take top spot in Group A at the U16 European Championship Division B in Bulgaria.

Pedersen had 15 points and 14 rebounds as the Danes won 51-50 for their third straight success.

Ireland are off to a flying start at the U16 European Championship for Women Division B.

Catriona M. Foley led all scorers with 22 points and as the Irish whipped Switzerland 72-51 for their third victory in as many games at the event.
